This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Hayley & Matt’s stunning winter wedding at The Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor. From the cozy condos to the snow-covered dunes, this venue was the perfect backdrop for a magical winter wedding. The Homestead allows couples to step right outside their accommodations into breathtaking nature—an ideal setting for capturing intimate moments without having to travel far.

A First Look on the Bridge at Café Manitou

Hayley & Matt started their day in separate condos, getting ready with their bridal party before meeting for a first look at the bridge near Café Manitou. This was such a heartfelt moment as Hayley tapped Matt on the shoulder, and they shared an emotional embrace on the dunes. With the backdrop of the rolling snow-covered hills and tall pines, it felt like something straight out of a winter fairytale.

What made this location even better? We captured all of this in just 30 minutes because everything was so conveniently located on the property. The Homestead’s setup is perfect for winter weddings—you can step out into nature, get incredible photos, and then quickly warm up inside.

A Ceremony in the Cozy Camp Firefly

Following their first look, we gathered for bridal party photos in the snow. Their floral arrangements were stunning, adding vibrant color to the winter landscape. After that, we took family portraits before heading into Camp Firefly for their indoor ceremony.

Camp Firefly provided a warm, intimate space for Hayley & Matt’s “I do’s,” with soft lighting and rustic charm setting the perfect tone. They exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their closest friends and family, making for an incredibly moving ceremony.

Reception Fun at Mountain Flower Lodge

Once they were officially married, the celebration moved to Mountain Flower Lodge for their reception. The Homestead is one of my favorite winter wedding venues because the different event spaces allow for a seamless flow throughout the day.

Guests enjoyed drinks, speeches, and an incredible party—but what made this reception truly special was Hayley & Matt’s fun-loving spirit. They even took some time to step onto the ski slopes for some adventure photos. Later that night, they cozied up on a ski lift for a unique couples photo, making the most of their winter wedding setting.

Hayley & Matt’s wedding was such an incredible experience, and I’m so honored to have been a part of it.

If you’re considering a winter wedding in Northern Michigan, I’d love to help capture your special day.
