Jackie and Jeff's Engagement | Blackwell Forest Preserve, IL
Jackie, Jeff, and aussie Zoey met me for a springtime engagement session at their favorite local hiking spots, Herrick Lake and Blackwell Forest Preserve. Zoey stole the spotlight if you couldn’t tell. I have a soft spot for aussies and Zoey is so expressive and energetic. She was so much fun to photograph!
Okay, back to the humans in this story. After our hike at Herrick Lake, we said goodbye to Zoey and headed to Blackwell Forest Preserve. Blackwell is an extra special place for Jackie. For one of their first dates, Jackie and Jeff took kayaks out on Blackwell Lake. This is the moment when Jackie realized that she had actually found someone who enjoys the same outdoorsy things. As Jackie put it, she is very outdoorsy and Jeff does a great job keeping up. 🙂
Jeff and Jackie are building a townhouse in Oswego, IL. Jeff actually proposed in a local forest preserve in Oswego, IL called Saw Wee Kee Park knowing this would be where we started our new adventure together. PS – Zoey was there. “We chose this town as a new adventure, where neither of us have been. Only five minutes from the Fox River, where we can play with Zoey, enjoy kayaking down the river, or a bike ride to the next town over,” says Jackie.
Jackie and Jeff love the Morton Arboretum, where they go to brew fests with friends and dog days with Zoey. They also spend time hiking at all different forest preserves in the area. “We try to go to different spots throughout the year. You will see us hiking more in the fall, our favorite season.”
Warmer weather is here and Jackie and Jeff couldn’t be more excited! You can find them at the local concerts in the park or morning bike rides. The two will usually end up at a local ice-cream shop or mini golf course. Every year Jackie and Jeff celebrate their anniversary at the same course where they had their first date.
Thank you Jackie, Jeff, Zoey for adventuring with me. I had so much fun capturing your little family and I cannot wait to photograph your wedding.
