Glen Arbor Engagement Session | Kelsey and Michael Engagement Session
I’m looking back at my favorite moments of 2018. My very special Sleeping Bear Dunes adventure with Kelsey and Michael is definitely up on the list. This beautiful summer morning I captured photos of the sweeping trees that surround the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Kelsey and Michael drove up to Traverse City from the Detroit area. Kelsey and Michael met me that evening right near the Glen Haven Canning Company. In Kelsey’s words, the two of them have a scary amount of things in common including their love for animals, a good old fashioned, exploration, and their favorite cheat meal…pizza.
“We love to spend time with our family and friends, especially while up north. Traverse City has become our second home, which is why we’re getting married there. We’re crazy fur parents to or cat named Gus, he was a street cat that we rescued from a local shelter. On the flip side of our love for the outdoors and adventuring, we also love to spend time in Detroit, where we have both worked for the past 4 years, we’re happy to be a part of the city’s comeback.” ~Kelsey
Just over 4 years ago Kelsey returned to the office from a business trip as a full time employee, to be greeted by ‘intern season’ at the office. That day she met an intern by the name of Michael. Little did they know they’d soon spend the rest of their lives together. After meeting, they quickly hit it off and and have been together ever since. I’m so excited for Kelsey and Michael and I can’t wait to be a part of their wedding next fall.
I met Kelsey and Michael at the boathouse museuem. The three of us hiked down the trail barefoot into a magical backdrop. The dunes opened up and were a magnificent gold and green. The sky was a deep blue and a full rainbow appeared. Kelsey, Michael, and I ran towards the rainbow. I captured a few beautiful moments and then the rainbow was gone as quickly as it appeared. It was such a treat to photograph this breathtaking scene in Northern Michigan with Kelsey and Michael. Every day this beautiful area of Michigan brings me something new and different. And you never know when it could be a rainbow.
