Hannah and Greg Waterfall Engagement Session North Carolina
Hannah and Greg drove all the way down from New York to meet me in Asheville, North Carolina for their adventure engagement session. I don’t think they expected North Carolina to be so cold. Now Asheville doesn’t usually get too cold, but I needed to cancel our original plans of an epic hike on Grandfather Mountain due to severe winds and frigid temperatures. That’s okay, I had the perfect backup hike. Catawba Falls in Old Fort, North Carolina is a beautiful hike with babbling creeks, rhododendron, and two magnificent waterfalls. Even though it was icy and we’d have to cross a couple frozen creeks, Hannah and Greg were totally on board with this new plan. They even brought their cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Henry.
We began our adventure down the trail, hopping over creeks and climbing icy rocks. Hannah was a great sport in her dressy boots. After a little while, we decided to open a bottle of champagne. Side note: champagne is a great way to relax in front of the camera. Highly recommended! After about a mile we got to Catawba Falls, which was frozen solid! I’ve never seen this in North Carolina. The ice in the creek was frozen enough to walk on. This made for some incredible photos. Then Hannah and Greg adventured with me up to the top part of the falls for some stunning photos by the icicles. Pretty soon it got too cold for Henry and so I threw him in my pack and we made our way back to the trailhead. Thanks so much Hannah and Greg for joining me on this ice cold adventure in North Carolina. What impressed me the most is that you guys kept on smiling despite the cold. I love your adventurous spirit!
