JP and Kate | Lake Bluff Preserve in Frankfort, Mi
Lake Bluff Preserve in Frankfort, Michigan is one of the coolest venues I had the opportunity to photograph at this year. It’s view of Lake Michigan is incredible, the cedar forests look straight out of Hogwartz, and it boasts pristine dunes that haven’t been walked on since 1890.
I spent one afternoon this summer sipping wine on Lake Bluff Preserve in Frankfort, Michigan with the adorable JP and Kate. We hiked these beautiful dunes and walked down the many many steps to Lake Michigan.
Lake Bluff Preserve in Frankfort, Michigan is a new wedding venue for couples looking for a small, intimate day out in nature. There are three large houses overlooking Lake Michigan. The houses are named Birch, Spruce, and Maple after the native trees found right there on the property.
Thomas, the owner of the property, gave me a personal tour before my session with JP and Kate. He explained that he wanted to “create a semi-closed community to preserve, protect, and mutually enjoy this amazing land.” Fun fact! The pristine Michigan dunes at Lake Bluff Preserve in Frankfort are home to many species of plants native to Northern Michigan that only grow on pristine dunes that are not highly trafficked.
But let’s talk about the view. In my opinion you really couldn’t ask for a better view of the sunset and Lake Michigan. Boats floated past way below as JP and Kate explored the property. The two walked down the steps of the impressive dock. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any better a bald eagle flew overhead. I couldn’t believe we had this beautiful place to ourselves.
If you’re planning an intimate wedding, you should definitely consider Lake Bluff Preserve in Frankfort, Michigan. The venue accommodates up to 54 guests. They also are open for yoga retreats, business outings, and vacationers from all over the world.
