Family Vacay

A few weeks ago my sisters all came into town and we rented a house out on Lake Anne for a little family vacay. It was amazing spending quality time together. But we also had a little something else we wanted to celebrate. My youngest sister, Alicia, recently got engaged to a great guy, Ryne! Of course, I had to take their engagement photos. We explored a few different places and captured their love and joy as we went. We hung out on the dock of the house and went into downtown Traverse City to check out a few of our favorite spots. Later we stopped at Glen Arbor Wines and then went to one of my absolute favorite spots, Sleeping Bear Point Trail.

Capturing engagement photos is one of my favorite parts of my job. Being able to have these special moments with my sister and share it among our entire family as well made it that much more special. They are a silly and super easy going couple, which made getting lots of smiling and joyful shots easy. I was also able to capture some great tender moments between the two love birds. They are getting married next month in Rochelle, Illinois at the Storybook Gardens and I’m looking forward to photographing their special day.

Northern Michigan Gems

Ryne and Alicia live in Naperville but came out to Traverse City for a little family time, which allowed for exploring my favorite spots to photograph in Northern Michigan. Fortunately, we both share a love of Sleeping Bear Dunes. The epic landscapes, massive dunes, and shining water in the distance make for the ideal backdrop.

An Affectionate Couple

My sis and Ryne are pretty rad, if I may say so myself. If they’re in Traverse City you can catch them at Sutton Bay Ciders chilling in the casual atmosphere and enjoying a drink. If they’re not there they’re probably out walking their dog Gordon or riding their bikes into town.

Alicia and Ryne are most definitely the ideal, opposites attract kind of couple. They have all kinds of different interest and often tease each other about them, but it is always in a loving and affectionate way. It’s how they show their love for each other and it works, I can’t imagine a better couple.

I am so absolutely happy for you Alicia and Ryne, I wish you all the best and can’t wait to celebrate and capture the magic of your wedding day soon!
