Tucked away in the rolling landscapes of Mancelona, Michigan, A Yak or 2 Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for Nayt and Shelby’s unforgettable wedding day. With a blend of rustic charm, stunning open spaces, and cozy gathering areas, this venue was an incredible setting to celebrate their love.

One of the things I love most about A Yak or 2 Ranch is how everything can happen in one place, making for a stress-free wedding day. The getting-ready spaces on-site allowed everyone to prepare comfortably without the hassle of traveling between locations. The groom and groomsmen got ready right on the property, while Shelby and her bridesmaids had the perfect bridal suite to relax and prepare for the big moment.
A Picturesque First Look & Bridal Party Photos
Nayt and Shelby shared their first look down by the pond, and it was such a perfect, intimate moment. The lush greenery and the calm water created a peaceful, romantic setting for the start of their day. This is also where we captured bridal party photos, and with the grand barn as a backdrop, these images truly showcased the rustic beauty of the venue.

A Stunning Ceremony in the Forest
The couple exchanged vows in a picturesque forest ceremony, framed by two wooden arbors—one at the start of the aisle and another at the altar. The rich brown tones of the wood contrasted beautifully with the lush green surroundings, creating an incredible natural frame for their vows. It was an intimate setting, perfect for a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
A Magical Reception & A Special Performance
After the ceremony, guests gathered inside the beautiful open barn for an evening of celebration. One of the highlights of the night was Nayt and Shelby’s special duet—a truly magical moment as Shelby played the guitar while they sang one of their favorite songs together. It was such a unique and personal touch to the reception.
The barn doors remained open, giving guests the perfect view of the outdoor dance floor illuminated by twinkling string lights. As the sun set, the evening turned into an incredible party filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and so much joy.
A Sunset Couples Session with the Horses
As golden hour arrived, we took some time for a sunset couples adventure near the ranch’s horses. The soft, glowing light created some of the most breathtaking images of the day. It was such a peaceful and magical way to wrap up their wedding photography.
